Coaching Staff Returns for 2024

by Team Admin

Landry Moore (Right - Head Coach) & Chris Power (Left - Assistant Coach) will return to the Clovers dugout in 2024. Together the dynamic duo has secured a lifetime record of 54-33 and a post season record of 6-2. In 2022, they went 28-13 and won the Carolina Collegiate League Championship. In 2023, they went a 26-21 and finished runner up in the Old North State League You Can Go Home Now Cup to a very talented Pineville Porcupines team.

Coach Power and Moore have implemented a tremendous culture in Clayton and will look to build on that in 2024. The Clovers have 19 returning players and some new faces but you can expect the same energy and grit that you've seen from the Clovers in the last 2 seasons. Team Owner Louis DeCarolis had this to say about the dynamic duo returning: "I get asked every year about our on field success, 'how do you do it?'. The answer is always an easy one to give. Get you a Landry Moore and get you a Chris Power. Chris was my catcher at Methodist and in college summer baseball and I was lucky enough to coach Landry for 3 seasons in college summer ball. We have a profound amount of respect for each other and we have been battle tested together on the field. We know what makes each other tick and we find ways to be successful. We have seen that translate into on field success with the Clovers. It makes it easy to recruit when college coaches know the Clovers will provide a top notch player experience for them and that all starts with Chris and Landry."

For anyone that knows Chris Power, for legal reasons, we can't disclose his quote about coming back but just know he is.....thrilled. Head Coach Landry Moore's statement on returning: "I love the Clayton Clovers and everything we have built over the last two seasons. We have been able to form an amazing bond with our players and our fans. What I love most about this experience is that players go back to their school in the fall and are better because of the Clayton Clovers. We see our guys find their confidence and we work on the mental side of the game a lot. We aren't in the business of changing mechanics or swings, we are here to sharpen minds and instill confidence. Winning is always nice but the ultimate joy of coaching the Clovers is seeing the success they have when they get back in August."

The Clovers will begin their next journey on May 25th, 2024. Opening Night will be an amazing event. Our 2024 promotional schedule and league schedule will be released just in time for a Black Friday special. More information to come about this soon!
