Clovers Announce 3 More Pitchers From the 2024 Roster

by Louis DeCarolis

Aidan Cooper (USC Beaufort), Luke Maicon (Tusculum University) & Hans Carter (Earlham College) are the 3 newest Clovers announced for the 2024 season. Cooper and Maicon are juniors while Carter is a sophomore, but all 3 are pitchers and will offer a lot to our staff in 2024!

Cooper is a Sandshark in Beaufort with Roy and Ryan Tayman. Cooper is no stranger to the Clovers as we have seen him in action the prior two seasons playing with the Wake Forest Fungo. Aidan spent 2 years at Louisburg College where he threw for a combined 30 innings and 34 strikeouts. Cooper is slated as a major piece to the Clovers pen this summer and we welcome him to Clayton.

Luke Maicon is set to return to the Cloveshow for year 2. Luke was our ace last summer going 2-0 in 4 starts after joining the team on July 2nd. The Wake Forest native got the ball in game one of the ONSL Playoffs against the Sandhills Bogeys and put us in a position to win by only giving up one run before Shea DeFalco completed the remainder of the game. Luke is currently at Tusculum this spring and you can expect to see a fair amount of Luke Maicon starts for Clayton in 2024.

Hans Carter is new to the Clayton community and new to the Clovers. Hans is a 6’6 right-handed pitcher from Hong Kong. With a strong 3 pitch mix and and command of the zone, Carter is primed to have a big summer in Clayton. Last season at Earlham College as a freshman, he logged one start in 12 innings with 8 strikeouts. Hans played his high school baseball at IMG Academy and is excited to call Clayton home this summer!
